Eric Burdette
Meet Eric Burdette! He loves fishing, hunting, working on cars, and especially lifting weights. Eric played football throughout his high school career. During his senior season, Eric sacked the quarterback and ended up injuring his rib. His family took him to the doctor to get X-rays, thinking he may have broken a rib. They were devastated to learn that it was something far more severe. Eric was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. His senior year turned upside down with chemotherapy treatments, numerous medications, and injections at home. He lost all of his hair and dropped down to 150 pounds with his 6’3 build. Eric always had a positive outlook and a smile on his face. He worked out non-stop through his chemo treatments. When Eric felt his worst, he ate more food and exercised, determined to push himself and not let the illness get him down. During treatment and the many doctor visits, Eric received many gifts and motivational cards from Claire Parker Foundation. The Foundation made him realize he was not in the fight alone. Eric has since become a motivational speaker and supporter for other kids with cancer.
