Dream Speller

“We initially took Dream to the hospital for what we thought was an ankle fracture or sprain. The diagnosis was far more severe. After taking blood work and x-rays the doctor came back and stated that the pain she was experiencing came from leukemia. We were transferred to the Duke Children’s Hospital where they took amazing care of Dream, and started a plan to treat her leukemia right away. Dream is not a fan of needles as most children and some adults aren’t, but after a couple days she got the hang of it and insisted the doctor’s give her as few “ouchies” as possible. Once she mastered this task, she made lots of friends with the children on the floor and the staff. She is still truly a very happy, energetic, fun loving child with lots more life ahead of her. Dream enjoys dancing, singing, playing with her dolls, bubbles, playing dress up and Jojo Siwa. The Claire Parker Foundation sent a care package to our family with a card about how the foundation came to be which contained a gift card as well. There was a note about keeping in touch. We decided to keep in touch and have received messages about updates on Dream. We truly appreciate the support from the foundation.”
